Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) is an evidence-based treatment that combines Western Psychotherapy with Eastern Mindfulness. It was originally developed by Dr. Marsha Linehan for chronically suicidal patients with Borderline Personality Disorder. Since it's beginning, DBT has been adapted as a treatment for a broad variety of disorders. DBT therapists attempt to balance acceptance and change strategies while addressing problems in regulating emotions, behavior, and thinking.
